STINGA TAKES POLE POSITION FOR 2009 EAST COAST COMMERCIALS GRAFTON BRIDGE TO BRIDGE

Strong winds saw rough water for todays racing which led to many falls, DNF’s and difficult driving conditions. The choppy water did not stop the close competiton between fierce rivals Stinga and Blazen who crossed the finish line 4 seconds apart. The tight racing continued between Hellrazor and Merc Force who split the judges clocks by 1/100th of a second. A mere 3 seconds decided the result in Unlimited Outboard, with twin rigs Ring of Fire and 2 Wild fighting it out for 1st away in their class, in which Ring of Fire took the honours. We hope to see more close racing between these boats during Sunday’s main event.
The return of the street parade was a huge success and was well supported by both the competitors and the local community. The local Clocktower Hotal proved to be a great vantage point to view the millions of dollars of machinery on display
